Pokhara

Glazing at the dim blue sky. The clouds hovering above the lake, defusing the sunlight and dropping it exactly at the periphery of the lake making a ring of glitter around it. Air so pure and fresh like I was sitting next to a mountain tree. I was feeling so much thankful to the brilliant giver of life for that wonderful day. The sun and the immense lake against the magnificent backdrop of the hills stretching as far as the eye could see. The place where one wishes to live – Pokhara, such a nice place in Himalayas of Nepal.

The day starts with hide and seek game of sun and clouds which becomes even more pleasant with the touch of cool breeze and rain adds as a key role player in the scene. Being at such a nice place gives you the feeling of being in heaven. The stripy walkway from my hotel room to the lake inhaled me with the excitement. The moment I reach the lake, I could not stop myself to get into the boat. Me with my family were paddling the boat throughout the lake. The water was so clear that even smallest possible fish was visible and we could easily see our projection in the lake. Suddenly my eyes stopped at a structure which was exactly in the middle of the lake. We started paddling towards it. It was a temple in the middle of the lake.

The lake is not the only bloom of the place. After lunch we proceeded towards the world peace stupa. It’s really a peace stupa, once one reach there, a person gets attached to it.and most amazing the view of lake and mountain peaks add to its beauty. Later on we went to a Buddhist monastery, which was at the summit of that same mountain. Place where peace blows with wind. I can never forget the feel of that place. At around 6 o’clock in the evening, I was gazing at the orange sky, when the sun was calling it a day, my body was asking for some rest but soul was overwhelming me with the scenic beauty. It was asking for some more. But I was excited even more for the next day.

Pokhara had overcome my mind and soul. In my dream also I was exploring Pokhara only. It has a great impact on my mind. Even after 13 years I did not forget even a single frame of my visit to Pokhara.
